What a FANTASTIC day! We had a beautiful and delicious Christmas dinner! A HUGE thank you to the kitchen staff! Each year it seems to get tastier and tastier!
After, we had our annual KS2 talent show! A massive well done to all the children who performed on stage, we love seeing all your wonderful talents and to see them performed so confidently was outstanding!
To finish, we were treated to another song from Mr P, as always, we endured the dreadful dulcet singing and the questionable dancing, but we all were able to join in at the end!
In the lead up to Christmas, we would love to see all your wonderful Christmas trees and talk about how you have decorated them! Please get involved by adding a Christmas Tree Selfie of yourself or with your siblings in front of your tree. Just double tap anywhere on the following Padlet wall to upload your selfie! 🌲🌲🌲
This week in literacy the Barn Owls have been continuing our work on ‘The Dark’. In the story Lazslo is afraid of the dark, so we have been discussing our fears in partners and as a class. We have been using the app ThingLink to talk about our fears. First we drew a picture of our fear, then took a photo of them and added them into the app Pic Collage before adding them into ThingLink. Afterward we recorded each other talking about our fears and then linked the videos to our pictures. After practising our sentences orally on the videos, we watched them back to see how we could improve them. Finally we wrote our sentences about our fears in our literacy books.
Today Year 3 had great fun creating movies where they had shrunk to the size of mice and had to explore the classroom. They created some fantastic pieces of writing that was then recorded over the top of the video. Here is one of their efforts –
Today Year 1 used the iPads to become superheroes flying through the sky. They discussed words to describe what a Superhero needs to be and what they can do to become a superhero. This is what they created –
This week we will be paying our respects to all the brave soldiers over the years who have died in different wars for our country. We would love children, parents and family members to contribute to our online Remembrance Day wall to make our thoughts and prayers more personal. Please share details or pictures of any family members we need to remember this week. These will be shared and discussed with children this week, thank you!
