International Week was very busy for Year 3 who studied the celebration of Christmas in France . They discovered that in some parts of France, the children place their shoes by the fire and wake up on Christmas Day to find them filled with presents from Le Pere Noel (they also have very warm shoes) and fruit, nuts and small toys hanging on the tree! The children wrote Christmas cards in French, using the language skills that they have been developing in our French lessons. They created Christmas plates – also written in French – which were to be left out on Christmas Eve with a selection of goodies for Le Pere Noel to enjoy. The children had a wonderful time and cannot wait for the next International Week!
