Grandparents afternoon

On Monday afternoon, Classes RY1, 1A and 1Y2 invited their Grandparents into school to learn more about how different it was being a child in the past. From working on instructions in Literacy they were able to follow some to make sandwiches for their visitors and they also prepared some questions to ask to discover what life was like for their Grandparents when they were children.

It was a fantastic afternoon for both the children and the grandparents and we learnt a lot about how different it was for our Grandparents. I think some children were really surprised to discover that there were no TVs, Nintendo DS or for some people even cars!

We would like to thank all our visitors for giving up their time to provide this rich learning experience for our children, we hope to see you again.
