Year 3 show their learning about the Lunar Landing

In Year 3 this week, the children continued their work on the topic “Space,” by making an information video about the first landing on the moon.

We first started by writing down anything we already knew about the moon and the first men to visit it, then we thought of some questions that we needed answering, finally we looked in books, watched some videos and researched some information to help try and answer the questions.

Once we had all the information we needed, we used the app Puppetpals HD to make an animation about the moon landing.

Puppetpals is a great animation tool that children can use for a variety of tasks. It offers plenty of different story packs which can be downloaded including a space theme. The app also allows you to use your own pictures and backgrounds lending itself brilliantly to so many different classroom activities.

It is fantastically straightforward and simple to use and children didn’t take long to get their animations made. It was very interesting to see what the children could remember or felt was important information to share in their videos. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and different way for children to showcase their understanding. Here are their efforts:
