Halloween is a great time of year. You dress up in costumes and get sweets. But do you really know about it?

Halloween is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on 31st October. We have Halloween to let all of the evil spirits out before ‘All Hallows Eve’. Did you know why we carve pumpkins? Traditionally people carved turnips. In fact my mum did when she was only little. Yet pumpkins became more popular. We took the tradition of carving pumpkins from America.  The last fact is that we carve pumpkins with scary faces to scare of all of the evil spirits. So make sure, next Halloween you leave your pumpkin(s) out!
