Ole Y6A Science homework white light

White light is not actually white! It’s made up of lots of different colours. Many people believe these to be the colors of the rainbow…red orange yellow green purple blue but if you gradually fade each colour out red goes into pink, pink goes into pale pink then into white..orange goes lighter and lighter until it reaches white as does each colour. Therefor white is a blend of lots of colours and what our eye sees when they are all put together. If white light is shined through a glass prism then the colours become separated. I had a magnifying glass in the summer and when the sun shined through this and reflected there were lots of colours. Just like when the sun shines on a diamond or a piece of glass the reflection (the light that shines out) is lots of pretty colours.
